"Is" [Ambient Electro-Acoustic Cello Improv] Sometimes I pick a word and improvise on its elements. This is one of those. Elevated Center (2019) by J.R. Edwards (b. 1986) MM Cello, MM Comp from UCO 05/19 All of the percussion sounds (consisting of purely metal instruments and objects) were recorded live in my studio and manipulated electronically with additional live effects on the cello (performed using harmonics), all using Abelton Live 10 and a bunch of time, education, dedication, and practice! Recorded live on October 7th, 2019 (the day before my 33rd birthday!) as part of the Electric Pizza Concert Series at the University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab. Personal Note: This was about as perfect of a performance as I've ever had. I followed it up on my birthday (tonight) by treating myself to the best meal I've ever had, a 9-course full french dinner with all the stops pulled. I could honestly die tomorrow satisfied and happy ❤ Best birthday ever!! Cheers to next year!!
